WEB OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

Job Title: Web Operations Specialist
Location: US-DC-Washington
 
NorthHill Technology Resources is currently seeking a Web Operations Specialist with 3-5 years of proven experience in architecting and developing Web-based applications in support of our DOE customer located in Washington DC.  
 
Duties Include:
 
  • Participation in enhancing the Energy Information Administration (EIA.gov), website and products. 
  • Responsible for web product enhancement for the design, maintenance, and resource requirements of the Energy Information Administration (EIA) website.
  • Serve as a web designer to create graphics and code that adhere to EIA’s style and brand identity; skilled in HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, and PHP. 
  • Familiarity with project management concepts including planning approach to satisfy requirements, establishing actionable dates, and negotiate new dates if required. 
  • Need to be self-monitoring
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Proven work experience with at least 3-5 years architecting and developing Web-Based applications in HTML, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Experience with web operations management including deployment of web applications, monitoring, error isolation, escalation, and repair of problems.  
  • Experience in AngularJS, JSON, AJAX, SQL, Python, XML, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Dreamweaver, InDesign, and Illustrator).
  • Analysis and web systems methodology experience necessary to enhance web environment that includes policies, approaches, standards, procedures, and guidelines for the ongoing improvement of EIA web products and their integration into the EIA electronic information dissemination program
  • Experience developing policies concerning annual and long-range plans relative to web and electronic product enhancement components.
  • Experience in GitLab or a demonstrable understanding of version control tools and branching model.
  • Skilled in database design and enhancement to support web application back-end. 
  • Proven competency in problem solving, clear/concise oral communication, good customer service and attention to detail.
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications.
  • Knowledge of program analysis and web systems methodology necessary to enhance web environment that includes policies, approaches, standards, procedures, and guidelines for the ongoing improvement of EIA web products and their integration into the EIA electronic information dissemination program.
  • Experience with database design and enhancement to support web application back-ends and web project management.
  • Knowledge of web design and enhancement specialty areas in order to ensure the EIA website reflects the most up to date information.
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization both internally and externally.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.  Years of experience may be substituted for degree.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience working with web site system administration.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
