SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER (Biometrics experience)

NorthHill Technology Resources has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer with Biometric experience for a Federal Program at Fort Belvior.

Clearance Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen; shall possess a minimum of an ACTIVE government SECRET clearance.  

  • Provide engineering support for the enterprise and solution architecture of the systems under the purview of Biometrics program;
  • Perform architectural technical reviews to ensure compliance with Army policies;
  • Produce and maintain performance and interface standards, interface control documents, and interface security agreements;
  • Perform analysis of biometric requirements, with a goal of creating biometric architectures where requirements are articulated successfully and gaps identified;
  • Develop strategies that can be implemented in stages in order to enable a seamless transition into a more efficient and effective systems architecture;
  • Evaluate “As Is” architectures, to include existing capabilities and technical implementations;
  • Produce and maintain architecture training curriculum to include “As Is” architectures; conceptual, logical, and physical “To Be” architectures; DoD enterprise guidance for biometric systems; hardware and software; DoD EBTS specification, and interoperability partners;
  • Analyze architectural artifacts, Technical Authority memorandums, technical requests for information, and compliance inputs;
  • Produce and maintain “To Be” architectures, to include producing biometric architecture products with project/product goals and objectives; and
  • Perform other Architecture System activities, as directed by the Government.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in technical or scientific field such as engineering, physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, operations research, engineering management, engineering technology, or computer science
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant/progressive deploying and sustaining information systems
  • Must have demonstrated leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to work as a collaborative team member
  • Must have advanced knowledge and experience with using Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to manage team in the accomplishment of common goals
  • Ability to overcome obstacles in the path of successful support and work collaboratively to develop contingency plans
  • Assess project status and communicate any barriers toward success
  • Must have complete project management from inception to deployment expertise
  • Proven experience with management and control of funds and resources
  • Demonstrated capability in managing multi-task contracts
  • Strong negotiation experience
  • Must be able to work in a team and as in individual contributor
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple/detail-oriented tasks
  • Strong self-organization and self-management skills, with emphasis on self-initiation and follow through
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
