NorthHill Technology Resources has a need for a Senior Data Engineer to support a Federal Program in Chantilly, VA.  This is a direct-hire role with our client, a fast-growing Federal Integrator.  Excellent compensation and benefits.  Due to the nature of the work, an active TS/SCI Clearance with CI Polygraph is required.

 Senior Data Engineer 

As a Senior Data Engineer, the individual will specialize in developing and optimizing ETL processes, data extraction scripts, and system architecture, focusing on enhancing data flow and security across multiple platforms and technologies, including AWS, Python, and REST APIs.

· Data Collection and API Integration:

o Rest API: Utilized REST endpoints for collecting data from web applications.

o Collected data from various sources to include Windows and Linux infrastructure

· Data Extraction and Transformation:

o ETL Processes: Extracted data from Dynatrace and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), employing Bash, Python, and PowerShell for data extraction and manipulation.

o Collector Scripts: Developed PowerShell scripts to extract data from Windows sources and transformed and cleaned raw data into XML format for database import.

· System Design and Architecture:

o Architecture Diagrams: Designed architecture diagrams to showcase updates in the environment.

· Windows Systems Management and Security:

o Windows Administration and Group Policy Objects (GPO): Managed Windows servers, including updating certificates and enforcing FIPS compliance.

· Network Security and Data Transfer:

o Multiple Network Enclaves: Operated across various network enclaves and established one-way data transfers from low to high-security networks.

· Collaboration and Version Control:

o Atlassian Tools: Configured Confluence for team collaboration and knowledge sharing. Managed sprint tasks and project tracking using Jira.

o GIT: Managed version control using GIT and utilized GitHub Codespaces and Visual Studio Code (VSCode) for script development.
