LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR/DATA CENTER ENGINEER (TS/SCI CLEARANCE)

NorthHill Technology Resources has a need for a Linux Systems Administrator/Data Center Engineer to support a Federal Program in Dayton, OH. This is a direct-hire role with our client, a highly respected, fast-growing Federal Integrator. Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI Clearance is required.
Description: We are actively seeking a skilled Systems Administrator/Engineer to join our team in Dayton, Ohio at Wright-Patterson AFB. The role involves contributing to the strategic planning, installation, configuration, and monitoring of a Linux- and Windows-based Server operating environment supporting a team of Scientists and Researchers. Support activities will span the range of both physical and virtual servers; strategic planning, installation, configuration and monitoring of related systems, and providing direct support to colocated and remote customers. The candidate we are looking for should be a natural problem solver, someone whom thinks outside-the-box, and is ready to help solve interesting problems with the customer on the spot. Good communication and troubleshooting skills are a must. In this position, you’ll tailor cutting-edge solutions to the unique requirements of our clients. Main duties:
Provide server operating system installation, configuration, and overall management across multiple platforms types and configurations, to include both physical and virtual systems.
Support Linux-based OSfor storage and GPU-processor server systems.
This includes applying software updates, patches, and custom configurations for specific application and operational needs.
Utilize Windows-based OS for infrastructure Active Directory domain services.
Define, configure and manage Enterprise storage and backup systems utilizing custom scripts and Dell/EMC storage systems.
Develop script-based routines for workstation/server maintenance, application data automation and management, and software installation, configuration and maintenance.
Interface with local and remote customers providing account management, system resource management and scheduling for projects.
Perform forensic analysis of security incidents and other events as required and conduct periodic audit reviews and ensure compliance with appropriate applicable DoD standards, including security and update patches.
Perform Network Administration duties to include installation of requisite cabling, connection provisioning, switching and routing configuration and documentation, and interfacing with communications authorities as needed to maintain and establish services.
Maintain architectural diagrams and documentation in Microsoft Word, Visio and Adobe PDF formats.
Provide hardware systems support services for all phases of Research Labs operations, including hardware installation and configuration, operating system installation and management, server application troubleshooting and maintenance within the organizational workspaces.
Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures concerning network and system administration.
Must-Have Qualifications:
Requires RHEL – Linux administration experience – 3 year or more experience
TS/SCI Clearance required and eligibility to obtain CI Poly
Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience - 8+ years of related experience (experience/education substitutions allowed)
Ability to respond to after hour calls “provide on-call support"
Ability to travel 0-20% to local area sites as well as other locations with similar architecture/footprint.
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference to administrators experienced in Netapp storage management
Preference to administrators experienced with Cisco switch and networking management
Preference to administrators experienced with ESXI VM management
Preference to administrators experienced with Windows server management
RHEL, Windows, and/or Storage administration
Must have Security+ certification or DoD 8570 Level II equivalent within 90 days of hire
Experience working with trouble reporting and tracking systems such as Security+
