B747-8 HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT

Remote, Remote · Architecture/Engineering

Our client, a growing Federal Integrator is seeking a B747-8 Hydraulic Systems Subject Matter Expert for a remote role.

This job is a remote work opportunity, with travel requirements or ONSITE in Dayton, Ohio.  Great matching candidates will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Boeing 747-8 Hydraulics System and play a critical role in ensuring the system's optimal performance, reliability, and safety, especially when tasked with generating a baseline definition of the system's performance without access to existing documentation from Boeing leveraging deep technical expertise, the SME will conduct a thorough assessment of the hydraulic systems, including the four independent systems that power light controls, landing gear, brakes, and other essential functions. This involves detailed inspections, functional testing, and data collection on pressure levels, flow rates, response times, and system redundancies. By analyzing system behavior under various operational conditions and collaborating with maintenance teams, flight crews, and other SMEs, the SME will document key performance metrics and identify potential areas for improvements Drawing on experience with similar aircraft systems, the SME infers expected performance parameters, ensuring that the 747-8's hydraulics systems operate within specified parameters. The resulting baseline provides a comprehensive understanding of the system's current state, serving as a foundation for future modifications, maintenance strategies, and performance optimizations, ultimately contributing to the aircraft's overall reliability and operational readiness.

Job Duties:

· Provide B747 expertise and consulting.

· Generate a comprehensive plan for determining all system characteristics without the use of any data from Boeing

· Define on-aircraft instrumentation requirements for gathering lab, ground and/or flight-testing data.

· Instrument, or instruct supporting on-site engineers, for on-aircraft data collection.

· Identify and define inputs, outputs, and subsystem interconnects for physical and electrical characteristics.
