Job Description:
One of our premier government contracting client is looking for a Full-Time resource to work Full-Time in Fairfax, Virginia. This position requires US Citizenship and a TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a CI polygraph level clearance.
Our clients is looking for engineers with a strong Linux background and with commercial cloud experience (e.g. AWS) for setting up various instances for deploying applications in a hybrid cloud environment. We are expanding our commercial cloud presence and looking for additional engineers who can work with vanilla Kubernetes on our team. We are also looking for someone with the ability to recommend approaches and to create and leverage automation.
Objectives: Candidates will help maintain and upgrade existing Kubernetes clusters within commercial cloud(s); including preventing incidents, managing the cloud infrastructure; aiding clients within a Kubernetes development and testing prior to clients moving into operations. Candidates should possess experience working with infrastructure in the cloud.
Candidates will work with others team members as well as our customers to bridge the gap between development and IT operations by taking on operational tasks and responsibilities. Candidates will collaborate and work with other cross-functional team members to develop real-world solutions and positive user experiences for every interaction.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Strong proficiency with different Linux system architectures and distributions; mainly with Amazon Linux and RHEL 9.
Familiar with containers and managing containers inside Kubernetes pods.
Experience creating, deploying, maintaining and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters.
Ability to manage different projects/tasks in parallel.
Ability to discuss technical tasks, ideas, and process with other team members and clients.
Experience patching, working with vulnerability and compliance scans, and mitigating critical patches.
Familiar with change management tools such as Puppet/Hiera.
Familiar with CI/CD, maintaining code and containers such as Gitlab projects and runners, Harbor container management and container security scanning.
Familiar utilizing Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform and Ansible including BASH and Python.
