DevSecOps Engineer (TS/SCI)

Our client, an award-winning Federal Integrator, is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to support a Federal Program in Herndon, VA.  A TS/SCI Clearance is required, will sponsor for CI Polygraph.

THE PROJECT

Our team focuses on the development of discovery and automation tools that enable geospatial and other types of intelligence analysis of a varied set of data types and data sources. The team is multi-disciplinary and highly collaborative, with GIS Software Developers, Big Data Software Engineers, Full Stack Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data / ETL Engineers, all working very closely with end users / analysts.  The program includes custom-written software (in Java, Python, R, and/or other typical data science / data analysis languages) and big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Hive, Accumulo, Elasticsearch, etc.), with extensive work on extracting, manipulating, and visualizing data that is needed for national security missions.  All of the software runs on AWS/C2S and other cloud infrastructure.

Work on this program can be done from Herndon, Springfield, and potentially other areas in Northern VA (we cannot support remote work).  A TS/SCI is required, and a willingness to obtain a CI Poly is strongly preferred.

THE ROLE

  • Perform Design, implement and maintain CI/CD solutions to support rapid development and automated integration.
  • Design and apply hybrid deployment strategy (cloud and local virtualized).
  • Work with software and system engineers to apply automated test and documentation processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network, automation pipelines, and infrastructure issues.
  • Build, maintain, and monitor configuration management of release products.
  • Integrate static code analysis and other security mechanisms into pipeline.
  • Communicate with multidisciplinary teams and articulate technical concepts and ideas effectively.

Required Skills

 

 

  • 4+ years of technical experience in developing automated deployment pipeline solutions for the intelligence community, geospatial context, and/or big data analytics
  • CICD development experience with Jenkins, GitLab, Ansible, Kubernetes, and/or Docker.
  • Open source and custom application deployments and maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with LINUX and database system administration and Python scripting
  • Capable of working effectively with a geographically distributed ops & development team
  • Communicates effectively with customers and team in written and oral forums
  • Willingness to work onsite 75% or as needs dictate
  • Degree or equivalent demonstrated experience in a technical field.
  • US citizenship

Desired Skills

 

 

  • An adaptable and solution centric mindset that embraces technology enablers.
  • Familiarity with common industry software tools, concepts, and DevSecOps
  • Familiarity with concepts such as Data visualization; Data management, Data integration, User Interface, Databases
  • Experience with
    • distributed processing methods and tools, such as REST APIs, microservices, IaaS/PaaS services.
    • developing and deploying web services.
    • supporting software in a production environment.
    • working with open-source resources in a government computing environment
    • Big data technologies such as Accumulo, Spark, Hive, Hadoop, ElasticSearch
  • Strong Linux skills and familiarity with hybrid cloud/on-prem architecture, AWS, C2S, OpenStack, etc.
  • Can work independently in a fast-paced dynamic environment, with factory reach-back support. 
  • CompTIA Security+ or comparable certification for privileged user access.
  • Experience as a military/intelligence analyst, supporting the military/IC, or knowledge of some IC PED systems is a plus!
