The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for working with highly functional development team automating service deployments; optimizing system performance; integrating with enterprise authentication services; establishing/improving system monitoring; maintaining established security protocols; provide customers technical support. The Cloud Engineer will be integrated with an agile environment participating with scrums and other meetings.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
•Maintain security requirements for operation of systems
•Maintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc)
•Produce detailed documentation
•Maintain System in AWS environment using EC2, S3, Load Balancer, RDS, and IAM
•Manage and Maintain AWS WorkSpaces
•Automate and optimize service deployments
•Delivering a full-stack web application to production; identifying and resolving operational issues in same
•Actively participating in technical requirements-gathering process (i.e. meetings with customers)
•Executing design and implementation of application features, independently / unassisted, with minimal oversight
•Writing and reading unit tests; understanding code-quality analysis concepts
•Writing and debugging Javascript, Typescript, or closely-related language
•Developing applications backed by a relational database; understanding RDB design concepts
Education/Experience:
•Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
•5+ years IT experience
•Meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA
Required Skills:
•Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services
•Strong Troubleshooting skills at the Tier 1-3 level
•Angular frontend framework; UI/UX design
•Microservice-based backend architecture; integrating with COTS/FOSS software REST APIs
•CI/CD pipeline implementation, ideally with GitLab
•Strong Knowledge of Active Directory
•Windows/Linux/Ubuntu/CentOS Administration experience
•Desktop support
•Domain/System Administrator experience
•Be a team collaborator
•Have or able to receive a TS/SCI with CI Poly
Desired Skills:
•Strong understanding of cloud APIs and interaction with the AWS/CLI
•Experience working with one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, or Java)
•Familiarity with HTML, CSS, Markdown, and portal development
•Database experience with a Postgres backend
•Experience in automating tasks using scripted languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Perl
•Familiarity with DevOps development processes and Continuous Integration tools: GitLab, GitLab Pages, and Nexus
